• Avoid night travel on the return journey too. Check out is at 11 AM. Some guests like to explore Tikona Fort or Lohagad Fort before heading back. That is a better plan than driving back in the dark.
• During monsoon (June to September), the roads can get slippery with mud and waterlogging. If your car does not have good ground clearance, ask us about the road conditions before you start.

• The locals are friendly and respectful. Pawna Lake is a well-known tourist area. The villagers are used to seeing couples camping here every weekend. You will not face any issues from locals.

• Keep a close eye on children near the water. Our campsites are close to the lake, and while the water looks calm, Pawna Lake is deep with uneven underwater surfaces. Swimming is strictly not allowed. Kids can wade up to knee level near the shore, but always under adult supervision.
• The food is home-cooked and hygienic. We serve vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals, and Jain food is available if you inform us 24 hours in advance. Is Pawna Lake Safe for Women and Solo Travellers?

Women safety is something we take very seriously.

We have separate washroom blocks for women, well-lit pathways, and staff present through the night. Many women travel to our campsite in groups, and we have also had solo women travellers who have had a comfortable experience.

Water Safety: Why Swimming in Pawna Lake Is Not Allowed

Pawna Lake looks calm and inviting from the shore, but do not let that fool you.

This is an artificial reservoir created by the Pawna Dam in 1973. The lake bed is uneven, with sudden drops, submerged rocks, and deep sections that you cannot see from the surface. There are no lifeguards stationed anywhere along the lake.

Swimming in Pawna Lake is strictly prohibited. We have seen people on social media showing off swimming videos, but that is irresponsible and dangerous. Even experienced swimmers have gotten into trouble in dam reservoirs like this one.
